Claughton House
A hostel for boys and girls

 

Claughton House, located in the riverina town of Hay, provides accommodation for boys and girls from kinder through to year 12, who are attending school in Hay.

Claughton House has been providing hostel accommodation for children for more than 80 years. It was administered for many years by Uniting Church, but is now run by and independant board.

As well as providing for the accommodation of school children, Claughton House also provides leisure activities for school children out of school time, by having its own table tennis, tennis court, pool table, music room, computers, and an extensive library.

The township of Hay is 780 kilometres south west from Sydney on the banks of the Murrimbidgee River at the intersections of the Sturt, Mid-Western and Cobb Highways. Hay is a modern township of approx 3000 inhabitants, and provides education in Hay Public School, Hay War Memorial High School, and Saint Mary's Catholic School (primary).

 



Additionally, Hay provides a good selection sporting facilities, for winter and summer sports. Adjoining the property are well maintained sports grounds for cricket, AFL, Rugby League.
